New WhatsApp Update With Awesome Video Status Feature

This is Hot, It is trending, it is blazing;

I literally lack words to express concerning this; WhatsApp has given us the shock of our lives with a new jaw-dropping update.

Previously, WhatsApp brought to us, the WhatsApp tag feature which I talked about once;

And they didn’t stop there, We also saw cool features from WhatsApp like the WhatsApp strikethrough, bold, italic;

That’s not all;

Remember WhatsApp also gave us the ability to make voice calls and video calls?

The WhatsApp Video Staus Shock

Short story;

Just some days ago, I got an update from a friend who told me WhatsApp had embedded new smileys to their collection of smileys.

I didn’t believe it at first, but I thought to myself ”why not give it a try”

And viola;

I opened play store on my device and updated my already installed WhatsApp,

Not expecting much from the update, I didn’t even bother to open the app after the update.

But then, after a while I did it;

I opened it;

And then came the shocker!

I saw the WhatsApp user interface, but this time, instead of three columns, as usual, I saw four. I thought to myself What’s this?

I was a bit skeptical at first about tapping on the new fourth column ”camera ion” located just before CHATS. But then I thought ” How harmful could it be”

And so……….I tapped on it and and then came my front camera;

That was when it hit me and I knew that WhatsApp had some new trick up their sleeves.

WhatsApp New Status Feature

 After seeing this new feature on my device I had to head over to WhatsApp’s blog to do a little reading and I found this text ”lying in wait” for my eyes;

“We are excited to announce that, coinciding with WhatsApp’s 8th birthday on February 24, we are reinventing the status feature. Starting today, we are rolling out an update to status, which allows you to share photos and videos with your friends and contacts on WhatsApp in an easy and secure way. Yes, even your status updates are end-to-end encrypted,”

And that was when I knew that this update had come to stay!

So, How Does this New WhatsApp video status feature work?

Okay, Here we go….

We all know that previously, WhatsApp update status option was only text worthy!

Now it’s different, You can upload images and short videos as your status on WhatsApp, And you can do this by following the steps listed below;

• Make sure your WhatsApp is running on the latest version.
• Open WhatsApp on your device.
• Tap on the camera icon located before Chats.
• Use your front facing camera to take a photo or video.
• You can also select from your list of photos, GIFs or Videos.
• After selection, tap on the ”Okay icon”.
• Tap on My status and finally tap on send.

So, there you have it, I bet you would love this new WhatsApp update that allows the usage of photos, images, and GIFs.
