High-quality mobile gaming experiences once thought to be a pipe dream, have become a reality, with even entry-level smartphones capable of providing enough gaming performance for some modern mobile blackjack gaming.
However, if you’re looking for more than just a reasonable gaming experience, which smartphones will be able to provide you with the best experience, whether you’re playing online casino games or the latest blockbuster titles?
Join us as we examine the finest smartphones for every element of mobile gaming.
ASUS ROG 5
The ASUS ROG series of smartphones has been quite popular among gamers due to the excellent features and performance they provide, and the ROG Phone 5 provides the same great experience as its predecessors.
This phone is all about speed, with excellent specs that can power almost any mobile gaming experience on the market. Of course, such performance would be pointless without a high-quality display to back it up, and the ROG 5 takes advantage of the most recent AMOLED technology to give even richer colors, a brighter display, an astounding 144hz refresh rate, and other benefits while consuming less power.
As a gaming device, you’d expect the phone to have high-quality sound, which it unquestionably has above many other mobile devices. This is not to suggest the phone is ideal, and at 238g, some may find it a little weighty. Its size also makes it less than ideal for one-handed operation, and because to all of the gear crammed inside, it may get a little too hot for certain users to play for extended periods of time.
If you want to take pictures, you might be disappointed by the camera quality, however the lenses are likely adequate for most people.
Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max
It’s not surprising to see an Apple product on this list, given that this tech company consistently produces hit after success in the high-end sector. Even while Apple is unlikely to pitch this smartphone as a gaming device, there is no doubt that it has the specifications to provide an outstanding gaming experience.
Several reviewers have noted how Apple’s unique A15 Bionic chips beat the competition, with one review aptly titled “Power-hungry Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 gets trounced by the Apple A15 Bionic in real-world gaming test.”
Combine this with Apple’s magnificent (as usual) displays, with the 13 Pro Max delivering crystal clear imagery with its 458 PPI screen, smooth performance at 120hz, and the wider color range and high brightness provided by the Super Retina XDR OLED, and you’ve got a visual powerhouse.
Of course, this is not to claim the phone is ideal; the weight of this huge phone, which is 2g heavier than our previous entry at 240g, may be a concern for some. Add to that the fact that high-end Android phones are moving away from the notch, and some customers may be wondering how Apple missed the boat on this latest innovation. There’s also the possibility that quick charging could be a little faster.
One Plus 9 Pro
Gamers will also be pleased to know that this device does provide the latest in fast charging technology, and even if it’s not quite as fast as wired charging, the Warp Charge 50 wireless charger will keep your device topped up at an incredible rate, even if it’s not plugged in.
However, as great as this device is, it’s not flawless. Despite having such incredible charging features, the battery may not last as long as some would like, and the higher-end versions of this device are far more costly than some of the lower-end versions, coming in at $800 or higher to get all the best features.
This phone not only has the most recent performance with the Snapdragon 888, but it also has an exceptionally stunning and smooth display. This screen boasts a gigantic 1,440,216 resolution and an astonishing 525 PPI density, which means that even more pixels are squeezed in, offering even more clarity than Apple’s current flagship phone.
