Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL Review

0

Google’s new Pixel phones have finally arrived with Notch and wireless charging. The Google Pixel 3 comes with a lot of upgrades that offer more display space without increasing the size of the handset. Without further ado let move to hands-on with the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL.

Pixel 3 and 3 XL: Design

The Pixel 3 retains familiar design with the Pixel 2 XL. But the Pixel 3 is quite different. The entire back is made of soft-touch glass using Corning Gorilla Glass 5 front and back. The same strengthened glass protect the front screen, and all sandwiching an aluminum frame that has a hybrid coating. The Pixel 3 XL come through with a notable display cutout (notch) housing two large 8MP camera sensors, used for the new Group Selfie mode. With the Group Selfie mode, you get to zoom out switching to the wide-angle camera, more like a wide selfie.

We’re also seeing a huge surprise, Wireless charging a new feature for the Pixel phones we haven’t seen for a while since the plastic Nexus 6. The Google Pixel 3 screen has a 1,080 x 2,160-resolution on while the Google Pixel 3XL has 1,440 x 2,960 resolution measuring about 5.5 inches and 6.3 inches, respectively.

The Google Pixel still retained the single rear camera design at the back, which still makes it one of the best cameras out there with a great shot. Just like the iPhone X series, You can shift the aperture of the image after you take it and also make the background black and white while giving your subject a splash of color.

The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL come in three colors  Just Black, Clearly White and Not Pink (it ’s totally pink) with an orange accent on the power button. The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3XL have glass backs with matte and glossy textures in two-tone backing.

Pixel 3 and 3 XL: Camera

The Google Pixel 3 and 3XL use the same 12.2MP f/1.8 camera on the rear and two 8MP f/2.2 sensors on the front. The camera comes with a feature Top Shot, which uses AI to pick the best moments to take a picture.

Pixel 3 and 3 XL: Hardware

The Google Pixel 3 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 and 4GB, 6GB or 128GB of storage with no microSD card expansion. The Google Pixel 3 has a 2,915mAh battery, while the Google Pixel 3 XL bag a 3,430mAh battery. The phone packs stereo speakers, Bluetooth 5.0 + LE, Wi-Fi 2.4G + 5GHz 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, NFC, eSIM, GPS, GLONASS, proximity and ambient light sensor, and other sensors.
